10 feel good Instagram accounts to follow in 2020

Looking for some fitness and wellness inspiration on Instagram? Here’s my top 10 I followed in 2019 that landed a bullseye.

With another year drawing to a close, it’s natural that we turn our thoughts to 2020 and how to make it our best year yet.

Social media is a part of life should we choose it to be, though it has been in the media because of the negative impact it can bring.

It’s for that reason what we follow should lift us up. So this blog is about 10 fitness and wellbeing accounts I follow because they’re positive, inspirational and some just take the piss because life’s not meant to be too serious!

And when it comes to living an active, healthy lifestyle, your virtual tribe is just as important as the real humans you see each day.

Here are my top 10 fitness and wellness Instagram accounts I follow:

10. @thefitpharmacist – Holly Rose is a nutrition and training coach and I like her straight up guidance and advice. She’s got a positive body image, was a pharmacist before focusing on fitness, and the woman likes to lift!

9. @redefiningstrength – Cori’s posts are short videos of bodyweight workouts, and she’s my go-to for mixing up my HIIT sessions at home. What I really love about Cori is what I call the “there’s no class in showing ass” criteria I subscribe to when choosing what accounts to follow.

8. @wititudes – possibly the best meme generator out there I’d say…smart, sassy, funny and relatable memes that just get you into a good headspace.

7. @steph.rose.phase6 – Steph is strength personified. Her posts are smooth-flowing kettlebell flows that make you appreciate good functional form. She’s the inspo for my strength poses when I teach my vinyasa yoga classes.

6. @desireenielsenrd – Desiree’s Canadian and a vegan, but don’t hold that against her. She’s a qualifed dietician with her own TV show and I follow her for tips on eating more plant based foods. She’s generous with her knowledge on what’s nutritionally good for your body and why.

5. @alexhonnold – Alex is a climbing machine and his posts are often epic shots of mountains he’s conquered, hanging in the outdoors with his fam or sharing what his foundation has achieved. A good one to remind you life is to be lived outdoors!

4. @elliebernstein – Ellie is a former professional ballet dancer, come yoga teacher, come writer. She shares raw, insightful content that pulls you up and makes you take stock of where your own life journey is headed.

3. @kayla_itsines – Kayla is one of only a handful of celebrity trainers I follow. She’s real, down-to-earth, youthful, provides good fitness and nutritional advice, with easy to follow workout videos which I bookmark for inspo.

2. @celestebarber – Celeste is the best. This sassy lady keeps it real for all of us on the gram. Her #challengeaccepted mantra ensures we are all in a better headspace because of her! If you’re not following her, stop reading and click on the link now.

1. @kinoyoga – Kino’s posts are beautifully shot yoga poses that for most of us, are a pipe dream. However, it’s her words that accompany the pictures and her teaching of the broader yoga philosophy that makes me a fan.

Check them out, and see if there’s any that would enrich your social media scroll. If there’s any you follow that you think others should know about, post it in the comments below.

Here’s to 2019 and bring on 2020! Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram and Facebook.

Until next time,
